"friendly staff, quiet bar area. Nice breakfast in morning. In a good area, easy access to town centre as bus stop not far from hotel. Walking disctance to SECC.Free parking at rear of hotel and happened to be parked under our room so we could check on the car easily." (97537894)
quite central but still in a quiet area. walking distance to SECC
room was much smaller than rooms shown on website. Shower made a funny noise when running.

Downstairs area bar and reception nice.
No heating in room and no phone. reported 3 times heating not on and one member of staff was rude. Eventually said it was getting switched on but never did. No plugs for sinks and shower flow poor.

"Last minute booking and was only £40 for B & B so can't really complain about price but cleanliness was awful, toilet didn't flush properly. We booked out by 9am just to get away. Usually like a long lie but breakfast only served until 9.30am. " (107290234)
Breakfast was good and staff were very efficient in dining room.
Twin room, the mattress on one bed was so bad we had to try to sleep in one bed, which only worked for short time. Car parking was a shambles one guest was blocked in by an abandoned works vehicle. Seems to be a work in progress hotel.

"From the outside and on the inside, it looked a good place to stay, reasonably priced and well kept. Travelled light and arrived at noon but room was not ready until 3pm. But what luggage we had was safely stored away. Room clean, bed comfortable and TV worked. The only minor criticism was there was a stain on the carpet, the toilet would not flush first time (sometimes 4-6 flushes) and although the shower worked, they had this weird dispenser for soap, shampoo etc on the wall but it was outside as I had to lean out and press a button for soap. The hotel recommended a few restaurants near-by. The Greek one was terrific as was the breakfast in the hotel next morning. There are only minor problems with the room and it will not deter me in making a return visit in the future and it did not detract from the great/memorable day we had in Glasgow (28.7.07)" (97460907)
Reasonably priced, clean, excellent breakfast.
Thought check in could have been at a more reasonable time. We jhad an appointment at 3pm(check in time) but the problem of luggage storage was immediately sorted out.

Clean, friendly staff, great location, near museum and fabulous restaurants.
Missed wake-up call early on day of departure. We managed to catch our taxi, but it could have been bad.

"A mediocre hotel. Not bad, but definitely overpriced." (108064011)
Lift didn't work the first day. Troublesome toilet had to be "fixed" (it wasn't, we had to use a special "technique" to flush the thing). The fan not working in the bath, which made the room very humid. A fuse blew in the room, taking most of the lights with it, including everything in the bathroom - took way too long to fix, considering all that was needed was the flick of a switch apparently.

Great position for Glasgow and Hotel clean and tidy in the middle of renovation. Good value. Breakfast only no meals but loads of resteraunts around.
Bad parking. small car park. If no space you have to park on street you have to put money in meter after 8.00am or risk a ticket or worse a tow.

"Although we only stayed 1 night. I thought the hotel and staff were very nice and the price £49-00 was good value for money. I would certainly book into the Devoncove Hotel again if I have to stay in Glasgow for any reason." (108080255)
The lady at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast staff in the morning were also helpful and efficient.
Some of the rooms decor was slightly shabby (the wallpaper), but renovations were in progress while we there, so perhaps the renovations hadn't reached that particular part of the hotel.

"Location was perfect for our purposes - within 10 mins. walk of many restaurants, the famed Kelvingrove Museum, a lovely walk through Kelvingrove Park to Glasgow University's Hunterian Museum which includes 'The Mackintosh House'. Also within 15-20 mins. walking distance to more central Sachiehill pedestrian shopping/eating/pub district, and maybe 30 min walk to central railway station. If you're looking for traditional Scottish cuisine, can recommend Blas restaurant which was right across from the main entrance of the Kelvingrove Museum (10 min walk) - lovely ambience, nicely designed, delicious food and knowledgeable staff. 'Blas' means taste in Gaelic. (lamb stew and venison were excellent, cheesecake was actually cheesy not sweet - wonderful)" (99645624)
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Room nicely furnished and fairly spacious with good amenities (shampoo, gel, heated towel rack, tea/coffee). Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast and parking included. Great location near park, museums, restaurants and shopping.
Size of double room bed was not specified on web site - would have preferred the king size bed as opposed to two singles if I had known this was an option (one of the couples had a king size bed in our booking). There was a bit of mould on the walls of the shower.

We were desperate for a good night sleep and were very pleased at how quiet the room was considering yours is a city hotel.
The bedside lamps were almost too dark to read by and one of the bulbs was dead. Also the light on the shaving mirror was on working.
