"Very nice, though I wouldn't mind a voucher for a free night to make up for our bad first night." (108051690)
Great Staff. Nicely designed hotel in Corstophine Edinburgh. Best location. Excellent breakfast.
We where kept awake until 2.30am on our first night by a guest in the next room talking loudly and watching the TV at a loud volume. He couldn't shut up and droned on for hours.

"We had a very comfortable stay, and the hotel was within easy walking distance of the venue we were going to in the Fruit Market. We will definitely use the hotel again when in Glasgow. " (108098158)
We were pleasantly surprised at the value for money the hotel had to offer. The room was a twin and was more than adequate for our needs, it was very clean and well decorated. Excellent bathroom, which was also very clean, with lots of little extras we didn't expect. Very good healthy breakfast too.
We were in a room opposite the lift, which was fine as the lift was very quiet. Unfortunately the flooring outside in the corridor was laminate flooring and it made the sound of footsteps very loud, especially woman with high heeled shoes! The rest of the corridor was carpeted and very quiet.

Sign on the building not working, therefore difficult to find at night time. Heating was not working, were moved twice before finding us a room where heating was working. Staff not very helpful in directing to the car park, and lacked courtsey.

With Holiday Inn Express you know your room will be fairly basic but clean and tidy, just as this one was.

"basic, very clean but with a hostel rather than hotel feel about it. online booking was misleading and did not reflect the ages and needs of the people staying. the travel cot supplied was dangerous as the netting had a hole in it. the set up of the lighting was not logical and some lights only worked intermittently and i was told this was 'something to do with the transformers and nothing we can rectify really' the deal was good though so i felt it was a fair value for money" (97563111)
location
room size for our family needs very cramped

"Would not recommend" (97666632)
Bedroom clean
No snacks/food available upon returning from concert. Staff not helpful, poor english speaking, received 2 phone calls on bedroom phone after 2am regarding a takeaway meal which was supposed to have been cancelled by reception staff as it was going to take to long to arrive. Very poor for a large hotel having no snacks/food available. A predominantly indian takeaway menu which takes approx 1 hour to arrive is not what we expected for a £99 per night large hotel.

Clean, spacious, well presented and maintained
The recption staff had a slight attitude problem. I paid for three rooms on arrival but they would not present me with a VAT recept until the next day ... unhelpful and left a poor impression of what the staff feel about their guests

"A typical Holday Inn Express but better than average when it comes to staff perfomance and cleanliness. Good location with large car park - important in Glasgow. Brakfast at Holiday Inn is hardly ever great - this was not too bad, but no cooked breakfast." (97772275)

"Hotel is fine, its new, its clean, and very professionally run. If you are in a car, its tricky to stop outside, so best park diagonally opposite, either on-street (£3.60 for two hours 8-10am), or in the open air NCP alongside. By the time you read the hotels parking offers on the front desk, you'll already have parked and paid (for at least your first nights parking), so they should either repeat them in the email confirmation, or send the voucher out beforehand." "The hotel offers good quality for a very good price. It is also close to the shopping and business district and many other attractions of the city." (97472423)
Design and layout of the room/bath are very practical and of very good quality + everything was working properly. The staff was very helpful.
The lobby and the breakfast room could do with some more comfort and cosiness.

"a two minute walk to the shops/resturants/pubs/trains/bus/underground. a minute to the bonny banks of the clyde. This hotel is idea for a overnight/weekend stay or longer. The staff were all very helpful. we were able to leave our luggage and collect it later the day we left. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast consists of cereal and toast. That was the only thing i could fault it on. no cooked breakfast. over all a very enjoyable time was had." (99179343)
the hotel is in the city centre. Idealy located for shops/resturants/pubs/train/bus/and underground. The staff were all very helpful. When we were there it seemed to be full of Irish football supporters. The staff were very good with them even when a few had a bit too much to drink.
It was a shame the breakfast was not a wee bit better. Not just cereal and toast.

"I'm satisfied with everything, it was'nt so expensive either." (99808009)
The hotel is situated in central Glasgow, it's good to have everything nearby the hotel. In spite of this it wasn't noicy in the nights (which I thought i would be). We slept very well. The room was up-to-date and the bathroom was as good as new, very nich. I like it and will think about this hotel again if I visit Glasgow in the future.
I liked the accomodation, but one thing...there's a difference between a scotchmen and a swede. We are used to eat much for breakfast and the scotchmen are not, so I prefer more to choose from for breakfast, eggs, sausage, ham....

"Great location which is really just mins from Queen Street and Central Railway Station. No noise from traffic through the night which makes for good nights sleep. Staff were very friendly and polite. As we arrived early they kept our bags while we headed out and also on leaving we checked out earlier and they accommodted out bags until we collected later in the afternoon. Will definately make this our base on return. Great for overnight stay if flying from or into Gatwick train leaves from Central Railway Station down to Prestwick - 40 mins - so easy." (99988211)

Overall our stay was very good and would use express inns again.Would have liked a full english breakfast.
The only bad point i found was the traffic noise being close to the main traffic lights.
